Place to stay in Hatteras

We're taking the boat to Hatteras the third or fourth week of Oct. to commercial king mackerel fish for as long as the bite lasts, and are looking for an affordable to place to stay. Any one know of anything? Right now, it looks like we're buying a camper from a friend and renting a site somewhere, but would much rather rent a house or condo. Everyone I've found so far is 1500 a month or more, which is much more than we're looking to spend. Any help would be appreciated.

Just remember, right hand turns. If you're going in October, you'll be burnt out by the time the best fishing takes place. You'll prob end up cheaper doing the camper thing

I don't believe I could get burnt out killing macks. I love it. I say Oct., but it all depends on when the bite fire's off. As far as right hand turns, is there any other direction? I get pissed when someone gets in the circle, going the wrong way and shuts it down.

You'll be better off finding affordable housing in Frisco or Buxton, I stay in Frisco when we go up

I've checked with a couple of the realty companies, looking from Avon south. I think we'll end up with the camper, but, I figured I'd ask here just in case.
