Pirate's Cove Big Game Tournament Coverage----Day 3

Just over half the field took today as a lay day---35 boats fished (41 did not). From the looks of the ocean from my hotel room this morning, it was a beautiful day offshore---except for the few storms that rolled through on their way home. Out of the 35 boats, there were 79 releases. Needless to say the fishing remains on fire. I talked to one boat in particular that saw 18 fish today! (Out of the 18, they only caught 1----most were window shopping and they had 3 that paddled along with them under the riggers.)

Bull on the Sea Toy led the way today with 11 releases---4 whites and 7 sails. The Daymaker had 8 releases---5 whites and 3 sails. No fish killed but I heard several guys that have the "go big or go home" mentality for tomorrow, so they're headed to the deep.

Enjoy the pictures from this afternoon and this evening. I've been wanting to get some night pictures all week and never could remember my camera at the right time to get them....until tonight.

Stream Weaver only needs 13 to win! Good luck gettin' 'em!!! would have been good to see Gray on Barbara B stick tight with Bull, Arch, and Watson as well....hey, they only need 17 to win it. With Watson being a past mate for Bull & Gray being the same for Arch it would have been a neat shoot out.

Who in North Carolina has 7 or 8 sailfish flags on their boat? I would have to be cutting up towells and drawing on them! I remember the day after Pirates cove tournament 4 years ago, me and a few buddies went 13 for 14 on the white ones. I am going tomorrow, hoping for the same kind of magic.

PC is Carolina's billfish tournament. No surprise to see the leader board crowded with boats from Va beach to Cape Fear.
