Piedmont Offshore Sportfishing Club - Fall Fundraiser

Wanted to run this by you all. I am on the board of the Piedmont Offshore Sportfishing Club located in the Greensboro, NC area. We have a fundraiser every fall to raise money for the club. We use these proceeds for charitible and conservation based programs. Examples, we have donated 2 buses to the Boys and Girls Club in Morehead City during the Barta Tournament the last few years, donations to Take a Kid fishing, CCA, RFA and TBF. Last year we purchased 5 $4000.00tags for the TBF White Marlin tagging project and used our member boats out of Pirates Cove to catch and tag the whites for migratory research. This November 12th is our big fundraiser of the year and we are gonna try a reverse raffle. If anyone wants to attend the event they are welcome to do so, but it is not necessary to be present to win the raffle. Tickets are $100 each, 150 tickets will be sold and the last man standing gets $5000! I wanted to see if some of you would be interested in purchasing a raffle ticket and if any of the vendors on this site would be kind enough to donate some items for the silent or live auction. Dale Britt (Sensation Sportfishing, Morehead City) will be our speaker this year, he has been a long time member and supporter of our club. We will also have a live and silent auction with charter trips, travel based charter trips and various prints, fishing accessories, etc for folks to bid on. Dinner and drinks are included in the price of the tickets as well as the great fellowship this club provides.

Sounds like a great time. I have really enjoyed the last two meetings with you guys! I thought Jerry Dilsaver did a great seminar on kings the month before last.

The generosity of POSC always amazes me. The white marlin tagging stuff is great. Didn't the club put tags on the Cinitory (sp?) boat in OC the year before last

I'm hoping to be able to attend the meeting mentioned above in November, or at least participate in the raffle. I know the money will be used well, as once many moons ago I went to the board meetings.

Yep, we've been pretty fortunate with the monthly speakers the last year or so. Jerry Dilsaver, Joe Shute, Creature, Norm Isaacs, Peter Wright, etc.. ALL of these guys have been great.

Maybe we can get Box to do a riggin thing for the club!!

Not sure about the Cinitory in OC, we very well may have. Thanks for the kind words, its a pretty good group of folks that makes all of this stuff possible.
