Phuket Nov 2nd
The day started slow with only a few small SJ Tuna. The afternoon lit up when we had two lines stripping out dbl on Wahoo and to top it off a nice long tail tuna. Just friends out having a Great Day.

Hi SeaBiscuit, It is a local name (I think) for a Southern Blue fin tuna (I think).... In the photo the larger ones dark blue back with silver belly.

Here in Guam we call those fish Kawakawa. They are closely related to the Bonita family from what I am told but they taste better.

I love that boat too! What a machine! A little lobster boat attitude seems to work well even in the far east!
Those longtails look to me much like pacific longfins or albacores. Is the loin flesh much lighter in color than other tunas? Keep the good stuff coming bro. SeaBiscuit |

Dan found this thread that I did on building a tuna rod: Tuna Rod Build Start to Finish And sent me a pm saying that he wanted to build some rods now because of it. How cool is that! The power of SFC is felt world wide
