There is alot of well built machines out there today that will do most anything you want it to. And I agree with Glenn get the laptop that fits your needs. But most important and what most here have stated in their post is buy the best dam warranty service possible....
I may not be able to add much on the laptop selection, but I am a semi- retired CPA,CMA- sold my practice 3 years ago and kept about 50 clients so I could put Saudi Sauce in the boat and bait on the hook. Tell Poneytail that there is no shortage of business out there. One suggestion to her is that she will need to get some tax expertise in dealing with the small business client.
