A friend of mine got new poles and he wants to use his old holders. Any tips on getting the old poles out of the 45 holder? Both sets of poles are lees and the 45's on the old set are not. He has to use the old 45s or change out the gunnel mount holder.
If the things are made out of the right stuff, have you tried heat on the outside of the holder? Gentle heat around the outside will expand the holder and allow the inner tube to slide out. Don't heat until any one spot turns cherry red...that's too much.
I would only do this if other ideas don't work first.
