Boat: Albemarle 24cc
Home Port: backyard
Best Catch: wife&kids
Occupation: contractor
I have a 24 Albemarle with a 225 merc. EFI. It is haevy and needs the hourse power and loves it. I want to put a 250 or 300 on it. The more HP the better.

I love my merc. because i trust my mechanic and that is what he likes. Get something from some one you know and trust. It does not matter what flavor.

When it comes down to $, from what I saw last spring, the Honda's cost more than all others. There's nothing wrong with Honda IMO, I actually just bought a 2009 scratch and dent 20hp Honda for my Sneak Boat and I'm very happy with it.

I found what seems to be a great place on line that sells Yamaha, Zuk's, and Black Anchors. Depending on what what 20' - 22' center console I end up buying in the next few months, I may very well repower it from here with a 115 - 150 Suzuki.

I have purchased 3 outboards for two boats in the last year
one is a 90hp suzuki, this has had one small warranty problem with a fuel pump, other than that it is very quiet and good on fuel
the other two are 150 hp etecs, these are also very quiet, no problems so far, and very good on fuel. better than the four stroke imo. I think at cruising rpm these are much quieter than a four stroke.
all are propped at correct rpm at wot.
and I do not beat them up
