NO NO NO the braid wil not work at all no strech thinner and could cut into the rings . If your having issues with the mono no going as smoothly as you like check the eyes if nothing there then consider putting a small pully on the tip of the rigger to replace the eye . I wouldn't personally but if you need it it will help it all depends on you preferances on how stiff you want you riggers

I WILL GIVE IT A SHOT....

NOT THAT THIS IS THE PROBLEMN YOU ARE HAVING....BUT

LOOK AT THIS WAY: YOU HAVE TWO LINES GOING THRU THE SAME EYE = FRICTION/DRAG

ALSO: THE 2 LINES COULD BE TWISTED TOGETHER OR ENTWINED

OR.......BEGINNING AT THE GUNNEL......THE ANGLE OF THE LINE GOING TO THE FIRST EYE QUITE POSSIBLY SHOULD BE REDUCED.....RELOCATE THE FIRST EYE OUTWARD

OR....THE HALYARD IS WAY TOO TIGHT PULLING DOWN TO THE GUNNEL

THE FARTHEST POINT ON THE RIGGERS SHOULD DEFINITELY HAVE A PULLEY WHEEL

Keep in mind, that if the lines slide too easily... they will creep easily! If they slide too freely, you'll probably need a locking halyard pulley.

I've just about the same situation and am ok except to the tip of the pole. Is there a particular type/brand of pulley that can be recommended?

West Marine have staninless pullys and a wide rang of then both in single and doubles. You should be able ot find a narrow pully there...

I dealt with this badly on my cat boat. Finally did as Lee suggested and bought pulleys for both begin and end points on my riggers - made a HUGE difference. I could make my halyards very tight so they would not creep, but they still pulled easily due to the pulleys. They are not cheap but well worth it.

also, get some Halocks for the bottom and you will elimnate any and all creep problems. Used them for nearly 3 years on my cat with no problems whatsoever

i have been using glass rings tied tight to my eyes with floss, has woored for years. This seesm to have just eough resistance not to creep but smoth enought to slide with out putting pressure on the rigger it self.

    Just another option..

Something similar to the 30202 is what I use, it is a triple block designed for sailing. As Mako Wish would say "it's as smooth as velvet P&#%Y." Alittle pricey but well worth it when you compare it to the friction burns you get on your fingers when you try to run the riggers up and the mono sticks in some cheap pulley. Not to mention the possible shoulder damage.
