I used to bass fish Buggs Island Lake (Kerr) alot and would get tickled every time-- The Virginia boys always ran across to pound the banks on the Carolina side while the Tar Heels flocked to the Virginia shore![]()
With fuel @ $4.00/gal I'll be hard pressed to run all that way to simply get to the other side with no structure unless there is one hell of a cool water eddy hooked in during the summer.
As far as the overnighter thing goes in Carolina--- been there done that twice and am in no hurry to do it again. Do ya'll know how fast that tide cranks past 1,000 fathoms?--- The second trip, we set up on the 700 line in deeeeeep ass water and were off Occracoke Inlet before we knew it--- what a lovely night--- thunder boomers on the front side of an incoming cold front that was supposed to form well to the North. 5'-6' from dusk till midnight--- then it got shitty.
