OK, after finally coming back to reality I can now take a moment to post a report from an amazing weekend...kinda.
Stiff easterly winds made for rough seas. Add a mass overload of rum and lets say the fishing plan didnt stick together, however Ill be eating well for a little bit.

The bottom fishing was steady on the west side of the island in about 20-30 ft. it was quite protected there and my spinning gear came into plenty of use. Small, but high quantities of yellowtail, mutton and grouper were steady on the hook, and with the light tackle it was fun keeping the bottom fish out of the easily visible reef. (speaking of visibility, easy bottom at 80-100ft)

This is pretty much what the slow offshore bite led us to. We were quite lucky to pick off a few dolphin that ended up in the chum slick. Stay tuned, I intend to get several trips in this year. as pictured, i enjoy swimming to the boat to fish!!!
