This event is one of the Big Ones--- major kahunas in prize money. Last year 123 of the finest boats on the East Coast-- top purse $568,000 or so.
We had 28-30 shots last year and finished 6th-- one fish out of the money. Not so this year by gummit--- we're fishing to win, and win we will..
This ain't the get drunk, let's party ordeal. We will be fishing hard for the $$$$. No bullshit, no fu fu, just in your face, 3 of 4 days fish as hard as you can and get a pay check--- pretty simple really.
Oh yea, it's a hell of alot of fun on the Run Off, and being part of the multi million $ fleet . You'll learn more than the cost-- I promise.

ditto what Dave said!! Man, I would LOVE to jump on this opportunity but can't swing it with my work load. I have turned down a couple other guys to fish with them in this event and its killin me - but woudl definitely rather fish with these guys!

Based on the points only levels we plan to enter ( 1,2,7) and the same number of boats as last year (123), here are the expected gross prize amounts for our categories entered:
1st Place... 2nd Place... 3rd place
$228,532... $100,193... $61,201
Since we have already paid a deposit, we also qualify for the first daily release ($5,750 each day)
At $3k per man, not too bad of odds fishing with the 2005 NC Governors Cup Champion, and in the money in 3 tournaments already this year.

Are there any other requirements besides cash? Experience? etc?
Not that I can afford it but just curious what is needed and maybe that will help someone who does have the cash step up and fish with a great crew. I sure hope some of you guys are still around doing this in about 15-20 years when my kids are out of the house and I hopefully have some time and $$ for this type of thing.
