wahoo, closest thing i could find to a hand basket is a boat. i got my reservation down there allll locked up so once this new boat gets hooked up, we will go for a ride.

im from pa, im allowed to rag on jersey as often as i like. take a ride down the mississippi river sometime or up in to port arthur or beaumont tx. then youll know what i mean by lesser states. its not a direct insult, its just a way to compliment them on the surrounding beauty of their surrounding area. whyd i even address that?

In Florida, marina diesel(red dyed diesel/#2 off-road diesel) is not charged the road tax of approx .38 cents per gallon. Marina diesel has always been significantly less than a gas station on the road. A couple of years ago, marinas began to disappear and guess what, marina diesel is now $3.60 per gallon when you can get it at a gas station for $3.25. No competition and according to the marina, they are selling significantly less diesel than they were a couple of years ago so Economics 101 says that when demand decreases, price goes down. Not here, the marina says they will continue to raise prices on everything until people begin to leave the marina. In the ICW, there is 1 usable marina in Fernandina Beach, 2 marinas in Jacksonville and 1-1/2 in St. Augustine. We have lost marinas yet the remaining marinas cannot get full. What has happened is that the prices are running people out of boating and especially out of inboard boats. In my opinion, the local marinas are short sighted and instead of building loyalty, they have decided to stick it up the rear of anyone left in boating. I think and hope that their short sighted thinking hurts them in the future. Right now, they have most people by the balls. Not me. I purchased a 535 gallon diesel tank and installed it beside the house to fuel the boat. It saves me 40-50 cents per gallon on diesel and the marina just lost between 4000 and 5000 gallons per year. I figure that I will save $1600 per year on fuel at a minimum. I fight back where I can.

Being the operator of a gas machine I feel your pain BOX. Gas right now in Cape May is sitting at 3.29 while diesel is at 3.50 . At our worst point we payed 3.59 for petrol 2 summers ago when the sh*t really hit the fan. Makes it really hard on the wallet especially when we got to run 60+ to 100 fathoms. The craziest thing is that diesel is more than gas right now and it is cheaper to refine. That is what has me really confused.

Well I guess we will forget all about it when the reels start singing their song. I too can't wait for the day we don't need their oil anymore and they are stuck trying to sell sand. NO THANKS HODGIE MY SAND BOX IS ALREADY FULL!!!
