LC Smith made flintlocks and continued to make doubles until the 30's. I"d look into gun digest and try to find it.

I answered your post over in mix it up but figured Id better look here in case you dont check that post again.
Is it an old flintlock shotgun? If so the London marking would most likely refer to a London Damascus or London Twist barrel. Most likely a valuable piece.
Did some more thinking and it maybe a Samuel and Charles Smith they were produced in London early 1800's I believe they are marked "smith, london", it should have a damascus barrel and can be very valuable. I'll give you $100 for it.
Post pics of the gun with the markings visible and Ill see if I can help more.
Ive seen Smiths sell for 45K

Did some checking earlier almost positive from your description it is a Charles and Samuel Smith. The Smith brothers made firearms up until about 1840 I think not quite sure of the date, as soon as you post pics Ill have a better idea make sure you get clear pics of any stampings that you can find and also see if you can get a clear pic of the steel of the barrel such as any patterning, swirls, or striations.
