OK, How Am I Supposed To FeeL About This?,

There are a few on here that I respect their opinion's, hard to believe but true. Before I start getting called a bigot or a racist, that's not the case. Anyone that "know's" me, know's better. I regard a man for the man he is, not what color his skin is. That said, here goes;
This morning on CNN (my son had it on in his bedroom, while dressing for work. I don't watch CNN, Fox or the other's. I don't like "spin") and it caught my eye. The headline and picture's were of "Chao's in Atlanta over Federal Housing". There were 30,000 people (their number's) gathered together getting "paperwork" for Federal Housing. It was pretty much a mob scene, people grabbing the paperwork, alot getting ripped up while someone else tried to pry it away, pushing shoving. It looked like a rush for food after a disaster. Well here's where I'm gonna sound like a racist. The common denominator was everyone I saw was Black, maybe it was the camera angle, the way the photographer wanted it to look. I don't know, but that's what I saw. How can I be expected to keep my cool here, seriously?
Everyone is complaining the "illegal's" this and that, but at least they (the vast majority that I see) are working. What I see is more and more folk's wanting something for nothing. I know "time's are tight" you don't have to explain that to me. Can all of these folk's be out of work? I mean I didn't see a bunch of malnurished people here. I got boney finger's because they're alway's working. All I see is more and more money (not to mention the "new" tax law's that are fixin to come out) leaving my account, going to prop other's up that don't or won't work. I don't care who you are, that's not right.
I am 100% all for helping those that can't help themselve's, but it's wrong for a man not to work (if able) in my eye's. I can only speak of where I live here, but the "project's" they're building now are way better than I could ever afford (sign me up!!!). They are Town House's, row house's, little neihborhood's. They've got a bunch of single row house's here called "Haceinda Height's", yep you got it they have a Mexican name for a reason.
Where does it end????? I'm not into all this "revolution" talk, quite frankly I don't this this citizenship is up for it, past talk. But this "cow" is tired and running dry. How can this possibly keep going on. If everyone is afraid to say what is right and wrong (regardless of who's feeling's get hurt), well this Country's done for. I've never had a hand out, don't want one (there's alway's string's attached), I have worked for everything I sit on.
Ok, fire away, tell me what kind of jerk I am. Please and I'm asking this seriously, don't "sling" race around. This isn't about race, this is about some expectence that I "owe you something". I don't, where did all this come from??? Frank

The amount of blacks you saw on TV was due to the geography, (ATL has a higher concentration of blacks) as well as creativfe editing. I think if you knew what the government has done to the black community in the past and present you would be fine with letting them fight each other for crappy gov. housing. If you want to talk about getting rid of welfare then you've got something I'd agree with.

OK, even if he does send them the "check" he promised, that's short term. That's the problem as I see it, it's all short term. The only thing that last's is letting (or making, in this case) a man make his own way. Work for what is your's, pride come's from work. So does stability. Again this isn't meant to be or lead to a racist thread. Frank

I'll be the first to admit that I live fairly comfortably - Not extravagantly, but comfortably - AND I have no issue with helping those less fortunate - UP to a point

IMHO the problem with Welfare, Unemployment, WIC, etc is that there is no incentive to get off of those programs.

Now I realize that there are people who are truly disabled and unable physically to work - I can live with that, but By God if you can stand in the unemployment line to collect my tax $$$, then you can push a broom down a city street, you can clean up a public park, you can clean the city government buildings, anything at all to provide a return for what others are paying to support you!

Nothing pisses me off more than someone paying for groceries with food stamps and getting into a Luxury car and driving home.

I still think anyone who gets welfare, food stamps, subsudized housing etc should have to submit to a piss test or blood test and test clean in order to get the freebies. Too many people no matter what race or nationality seem to be able to afford to drink, smoke or get high on drugs but can't seem to get off their lazy asses and do some kind of work.

Call me what you want but its not just in atlanta, they are working the system and you cant deny it......I see it every time go food shopping......people on government assistance eating a hell of alot better than I do and sitting on their front step hanging out all day while I struggle to make a living....much less get out and enjoy myself, I wish there was a graph showing the ethnicity of the people on govt assistance.....if you think caucasions are anything but the minority on govt assistance you are fooling yourself.

Please explain what or how the Government has done against them as a whole. OK, let's keep it to within this last generation. I know the history of slavery, no arguement there. But I, my father or my grand father ever owned a slave. Since the time I was a kid the deck has been stacked against me for crime's I never had anything to do with, they were before my time. Minority's have a much better time chance of getting education, SBA loan's, assistance of any kind. Al right when does the statute of limitation's end??? Again I can only speak of what I have seen. I drive through town each day while working on the boat's, getting part's, etc.... I can tell you just about what houses, street's, porches are gonna have the same people hanging out every day. How are they affording to eat, they aren't working, haven't for the year's that I've seen them.
I'm spinnin' my wheel's going as hard as I can 6 day's a week. I've got no health insurance or free lunch, but I'm expected to pay for everyone else's. Doesn't quite add up to me. Frank

When my lure company was young, I suplimented my income by reposessing furniture and appliances... While not exclusively limited to the blacks for a large majority it was them that I dealt wit. Don't get me wrong. I'm color blind but to a large extent our local population was working the system the way you saw on tv even back them.
"Giving" has crippled multiple generations of african american's ability to even contemplate work. Hell I saw all the free housing and I saw the big ol gals comming in using several checks at a time to get their big screens and fine dining sets and each one issued by uncle sam. Notice I said several... They scammed all kinds of ways to get more than their share of the pie. They had checks for each kid and another for the "daddies" that "died" or "disappeared".
Why work when they can get more by sitting on their fat asses doing nothing? There in lies the problem...
