I am told the "Fishing Center" and Wancheese didn't fair very well. Heard that about 5 foot of water came through Wancheese, many of the older houses are not raised. Alot of folk's hurting right now for sure. Frank

Frank I heard the same thing. There was water up in the Parking lot at the ramp in Wanchese and water came over the bulkhead @ the marina. I pulled the boat Wednesday night and brought it back to the house in Raeford. I heard the boats that were pulled and blocked in Wanchese fared pretty good but it was close. I havent been down since the storm and don't know if my dock or lift is still there. Mark

I talked with Todd and he was going to get back with me. I know water came up in the parking lot but haven't heard anything else. Todd said he would make arrangements if there were any problems with the lifts or power. I was thinking about bringing mine back as well. There is another storm heading west so I might wait another week. Mark

Hi All -- We had our boat on blocks on the back side of Wanchese in Weinke's yard next to Spencers. Our boat fared well (stayed on the blocks) and I got the impression that most others came out ok too, but that it was close.

It does sound like that area suffered some very severe damage and that they will be digging out/cleaning up for a while. Thoughts and prayers are with them down there.
