OI EARLY DEPARTURE...GOING BAD GOT WORSE
JUST WASN'T MENT TO BE.
Arrived at the OI ramp 4:00am giving us plenty of time to have an ignition jam on truck ready to back into water. Then prior to shortcut touch bottom stalling both motors. Port won't turn over. Load boat back on trailer all before sun-up! It just wasn't ment to be.
Had repaired a bad ground lug fixing a problem that had showed it self several times in the past 18months. Returned to Hampton and Dare Marina tackled the repeated problem replacing the same ground lug and boat was ready for another test run. I returned to C'ville and haven't heard report back on test.
Buddy boat was a friend taking his new 258 GW out for the first time and ended up leaving sort of solo with two other boats at day break. Got separated in the fog and finally got out with one cutoff before turning in when the SW winds kicked up. Not the day we had in mind. The younger crew ended up on the beach to stretch legs before calling it a day.

it happens, there is a country song out now, "songs like life to me". We went crappie fishing Sunday. The depth finder would not come on. Had just worked on it last week recrimping connections. It worked just fine at the house, not on the lake. Trolling motor battery konked out after a short time. We made the best of it. Get back on that horse and get ready to ride. Next Sunday is looking good right now.

We ended up having a great day. The owner of the boat and I did some shopping and talked to a broker about the one we towed back from the ramp. Nothing like looking at boats. Just wish he could have a summer without the problems of the Yamaha F150's everyone speaks so highly of.
Also what a Saturday turkey hunt with my youngest Ewing!

$.03 part shuts down a trip. A rubber backed washer insulated enough to prevent amps for warm engine crank. Cranked cold and did fine in test. CRAZY. The rubber backed washer (not sure where it came from) was removed and the same ground lug was reinstalled. Report was performing beautifully today while fishing the tubes for TAUTOG---NOT. Only one boated. I work today while the rest of the crew enjoyed the water.
