    offshore thurs report

headed out of beaufort about 5 heading south. on the way we see the black boat, so we know we are heading to the right spot.
pretty quick into the troll we have 2 fish crash in on our shorts, & we missed both of them! then the wwb goes off, our first hoo of the day soon meets the steal. all day we picked at the fish with a few triple & quadrupal knockdowns. ended the day with 4 hoos, 15 mahi in the 10-25lb range, & 2 blackfin tunas. a great day on the water and some cooperative fish to boot! a nice rip formed this afternoon and we saw several fish airing out. hopefully this is a good sign for what is to come this spring! will post some pics later

We fished the hot water today w/o a bite. It was right where Supermap said it would be, but the fish weren't with it. There was an early bite of hoos, blackfins, and mahi in around 45 -50 fathoms between Swansboro hole and Big rock. What was surprising was the mahis in 65 - 66 degree water. That's the temp most of the bites for us was. The fish seemed to be on structure more than the warmer water. We managed to get a handful of mahi and that was all we did. I think after a few more weeks things should get better. Oh well, we zigged when we should have zagged I guess._________________

GREAT DAY ELECTRIC!!!!!I HAVE STRUGGLED TO CATCH A WAHOO MY LAST 2 OUTINGS....PRETTY WORK!!

JOHN I TOO WAS AMAZED....BUT NOT SURPRISED THAT THE MAHIS WERE HANGING OUT IN THE 66 DEGREE STUFF......NOTHING SURPISES ME WHEN IT COMES TO FISH FOR THEY CONTINUE TO SHOW THEIR ABILITY ADAPT TO ABOUT ANY OCEANIC CONDTION

THE RIPS AND TURBULENCE WAS PURE WOOD FOR ME TO WATCH....I WAS EXPECTING A BILLFISH ANY MOMENT!
