OBX in November-Kings vs. Tuna
I am looking for some guidance about a trip I want to take November 11-14. I am kind of torn between the Live bait King Mackerel fishing in Hatteras vs. the tuna fishing out of Oregon Inlet. I don't really have the cash to take two trips from two different places. Anyone have pros and cons of each? Or a compromise between the two? Thanks in advance.

Well for me, I'll take the Tuna, you can have the kings...

I think Admin is going to let me have this space
King fishing is great that time of year but Like Lee I would much rather have tuna. You can catch alot of kings but if your looking for good meat to eat tuna is better.

tunas taste a hell of a lot better. If more OI captains would let you bring your own stand up gear they'd be a lot of fun too. Too often its like winching on those 50's.
king fishing might be more fun when done on 20lb live bait gear...
I'd do tunas if it was me

If you go to Hatteras, some captains will do tunas in the morning and kings in the afternoon on the way in. The king fishing out of Hatteras can be the best on the East coast. They use TLD20s and having 6 on at once is common. I sent you a PM with a recommendation.
