    Oaklands Marina..NY..Way Cool

I had occasion to be near Shinnicock this weekend. Was helping a friend pick up a new ride and bring her home. We got to his new girl and found out that the genset was not operating. Battery's were extremely low, and the pick up dealer just wanted it out of there. I inquired about proper navigating the channel and was advised the channel markers are reversed and several channels come and go branching here and there..Bottom line you needed some local intel.

So with a bit of encouragement we loaded the guy that didn't perform the work and sort of Shanghaied him. Just to gain some local knowledge of a channel that he couldn't describe so I thought a courtesy ride was in order...Once we went lines off we exchanged pleasantries and he was most helpful with local knowledge. I quickly determined that they had no shore power to get the battery charger going and no assistance could be offered for the genset....Then I said to him if I go here and turn there can't I get to Shinnicock...He replied affirmatively and I pointed her to visit with Cord! A quick call to Cord confirmed he would top us off with fuel and get us a transient slip for the night with shore power all the while at the foot of a 5 star restaurant with showers...Life is Good!!!

I made arrangements to have our shanghaied friend returned to his work place and everyone was cool with that. Cord made the arrangements to have everyone returned to the rental car and our friend to his work while I topped her off and enjoyed a sip of something made from a single malt with Cord. Dropped a dime to Steve to let he and Cord renew....

So when in the land of Tred and Shinnicock tell them Steve C sent you. It's all good in his circle

NOW PLEASE DON'T GET THIS WRONG THE GUY REALLY WANTED TO LEAVE WORK FOR A WHILE...HONESTLY

I gotta tell it like it is. If your in the Shinni area and you need a friend Cord is the guy to call. He simply saved my bacon on this run. With most of the systems on this vessel not functioning I was near calling the trip off.

I believe he is in charge of the marina and returant but Tred could tell you all a bunch more.

While there a new Rampage came in "Canyon Bound" it was simply beautiful. A light blue hull white decks and SWEEEEETTTTT.

Yeah must be like being the man from Nantucket because he's soo hooked up in the area

Oh Yeah the waitstaff in the rest......pure eye candy
