Rough as hell both days. Water ugly to blended to pretty. In out up and down. Started @ 415 Fri in 30ftm with 70.5 blended and pulled a blackfin out. Then work the area for a while without another sniff. Worked my way North east zigg and zagging from the 30 to 50ftm line all the way to the 620 without a sniff. That water was the same temp couldn't find a change. So I decided to turn south east and go overboard to hopefully find a break with no luck. At the 580 in 300ftm we get a lost 30# YFT. Thought we were on to something but nope trolled that general area for awhile without another sniff. So I decided to point ourselves west and found a gradual break in 50ftm and scratched out a gaffer in 40ftm 67 degree water tough day but Better than most and not as good as some.
Sat. ran to the 300 in hopes of finding life. Well we found a good change from ugly water to gulf stream blue. Got lines out and bam 35# YFT. I thought oh yeah this is going to be a great day. There was a lot of life there flyers every where birds two tones. Then nothing until 1:00 we stumbled across a scattered weed line with birds bait and dolphin. We managed 6 dolphin and 2 hoo short bites on the DFA.
Even though the WX was missed totally and the fish weren't as cooperative it was a good grocery run. One special thing was we popped my friends bosses sons cherry. His first YFT and Dolphin ever. Should've seen that kids face PRICELESS. All in all a great 2 days despite the conditions.
Final tally
2 YFT
1 Blackfin
7 Dolphin
2 Wahoo short bites.
