Not doing so good

Well this week has been interesting to say the least. As many of you know my Father in Law has been battling a crazy disease for the last 5 years. This week has been terrible. He had his 86th surgery right before Christmas and it was horrible. More transplated veins and more of the foot amputated. The recovery over the holidays was hard for him to say the least. He was just starting to regain some strength last week and the doctor said he was doing well on the recovery. Well this week he started getting some massive pain in the feet. A trip back to Johns Hopkins on Tuesday and the report was not good. The last surgery had some complications and they need to do some more amputation and move some more veins around. To top things off the doctors told my Mother in Law that she should take him to the motel until they were ready to do the surgery but wake up every hour and check his foot to make sure it wasn't bleeding. If it was bleeding she was to rush him back to the hospital for emergency surgery. The bleeding would have caused him to die. Needless to say she refused and insisted that he be admitted if he was in this much danger. Well the Surgery was yesterday and most of his foot is now gone and new veins have been moved into place. Hopefully this will be the last surgery that he has to have!

Back at my homefront things aren't much better. My son has been battling a bit of a bug for about a week now. My wife took him to the doctors on Tuesday and the doc diagnosed him with strep throat and an ear infection. Pretty common stuff for a 5 year old. Well he woke up Wednesday and never got off the couch and seemed to be gettting worse. We nursed him through last night with the worst cough you have ever heard. Today it was back to the docs office and todays diagnosis strep, ear infection, bronchitis, and pnemonia. WHY COULDN'T THEY TELL THIS ON TUESDAY????

Prayers please for the crusty old salt and the little dude!
