I just thought i would throw this out there and see what everyones feeling are but i for one am completely done with the offshore canyons since i can not stand the ride any longer...
I have been doing it for about 10 yrs or so now and only do it a dozen or so times a year but i have had enough!! lol

now i would mind it on a boat like the diamon girl, or a boat like the canyon runner but since i do not have any of those large boats at my disposal and i am normally on a 41 viking which isnt small but still takes 3 hours to get there on a good day i just can not take the long rides any longer....

The amount of money you spend and the amount of fish offshore i think it is great for new comers and people who just love it but i have completely changed to trophy fishing! i want big fish and rather save my money and not chunk all night and spend it down south chasing marlin, sailfish, and anything else all over the country and in mexico and such.

I dont know if anyone feels this way but i sure feels that other than tournaments and the competition in my veins i am just not into catching another 100 tuna on the chunk this year or trying to catch a few whites and maybe a blue or two.. just dont think it is worth the ride, the money, the pain, and the feelig of being offshore for 36 hours..

Sorry to have to vent but i just can not take living up here any longer!

i want to buy a house in NC and be 30 miles out catching fish and hanging out offshore with ken from swellrider or anyone over there in those parts bottom fishing!!

I AM DONE WITH THE EAST COAST CANYONS AND RUNNING 80 MILES FOR A FEW TUNA!!

Just tired of the run... If i fished full time with you guys whitey i wouldnt mind.. because you circle fish and do alot of tourneys and day trolls!! my style! you also love the billfish!!

But when you get on a boat with a lot of guys who want tuna i go to sleep! lol i want to troll baits and hook bills!!

I completely understand... Though i dont plan on ever giving it up, i understand how miserable it is. Espesially when your 80 plus miles off and have to run into a 6 foot head sea in a 40 foot tub... that 2.5 hours quickly turns into 5... miserable.

Persue your dreams and move somewhere where there is actully alot of fish, and where they are actully close by...

BTW, with gas prices, it is almost the same price to fly down to centeral america, fish two days, and fly back, then it is to run out there anymore... plus there is a damn bunch more billfish down there too... and they are usually dumb as shit...
