I might not be the best to answer this but the easiest place to use split bills are gonna be on your flatlines. If your clips are low all you need is to keep it underwater. I typically only marlin fish so i rarely go over 5.5knots and if you are using small ballyhoo that is all the faster you would want to go, mediums larges and horses hold up with higher speeds but whitey's love the smalls. i splitbill all my baits when rigging and if the weather coperates then my rigger baits swim relatively well most of the time skipping only every now and again to make them easy to see. If it gets windy and stuff starts blowing around add 1/8 oz wieghts and that should keep them in place and swiming, adding a seawitch is just adding color to the bait great for tuna not my favorite for marlin. Islanders same sort of thing but make the bait last much longer (no washout) and changes the action, short rigger for blue marlin or wwb for tuna. Both seawitches and islanders will let u troll faster and at more of a tuna speed. Now that i spoke my peace we can let the pros teach us all
