No Wake Zones on the ICW
I have the chance to run up and down Adams Creek once or twice a year going to Morehead City. There are several "no wake" zones all up and down the creek. Some are marked with official looking signs, and some are marked with more home-made looking signs. There seems to be no set way to run in these areas: that is, some people are running at idle, and some are running at speed. I have yet to see any Game and Fish guys patrolling anywhere on the creek.
What do you do? What should I do?
Thanks

The only true no wake zones on Adam's creek are the ones that are by the marinas and the one under the bridge. Just remember you are responsible for any damage that is caused by your wake regardless of whether or not it is in a no wake zone.

the one under the HWY 101 bridge is the ONLY legit no wake zone between MHC and the Neuse river.
All the others have just been put up by private places. They are NOT inforcable.

Got a ticket 2 yrs ago in the turning basin so I asked about Adams Creek. There are NO official NO Wake Zones. I respect the marinas. If you want a boat on Core/Adams creek you can afford the lift or deal with the drift. Just my opinion. I'm still why the turning basin is No Wake.

Bite me
Thanks you all for the responses. I think I will stick with slowing down at the bridge, and using my best judgement elsewhere on the creek. Considereing some of the big barges/tugs I have seen in there that can't help but throw a big wake, it makes sense that it would be tough to enforce a no wake zone.
I appreciate the help.

Turning basin went no wake because several people were killed at the port.
