We were fishing the Georgetown Hole, which is about 60 miles or so out of Charleston.
SeaBiscuit, it was pretty slow. There were easily 40 boats at the Hole. We marked bait all day, but could not stay on it with all the boats crowding us. Never got the longs or shotgun cut off due to boat traffic, but we were close a few times. Score for the day in addition to the 'Hoo was a small blackfin on the meat plow, lost a STUD wahoo on a long rigger to a cut off ( he hit a 50w and even with the drag in the pins, he was burning that reel up) missed a dolphin bite on the right short and had a good bite at the end of the day on a long rigger, but it never came back for the knock down. Oh yeah, we also caught about 15 barricuda. I wish there was more to tell. We fished a local tounry, and lines in was not until 7:30, so we missed the early tuna bite, then had to have lines out before the afternoon bite started. We did win enough money to cover the trip and then some.
Wahoo hit a (big surprise) blue/white sea witch. It was the angler's 3rd time on a rod ever and he did a hell of a job with it. When you are new to the game, I guess you have not learned all the bad habits. He listened to all the instructions we gave him and kept his head even when the fish made a (actually several) run for the motors.
Trying to head out and catch some Allisons this weekend.
