    A new search...

    I'm hoping this doesn't get me kicked out of the forum! I looked in the classifieds and could not find anything that would answer my question.
    Here is the scoop: My best friend lost her husband, unexpectedly (if I may add, this was a healthy, 52 year old man, did not drink, did not smoke nor did drugs, worked out regularly and kept himself in good shape). He was a retired Marine that served his country for 27 years and was running (as usual) las wednesday when he collapsed. He leaves my best friend, his wife of 33 years and two grown daughters. This is my dilemma: Now that everybody is gone back home, back to their lives, the daughters are back to their homes and lives, she has stayed home alone. Her friend, partner, her everything is gone! I mentioned to her getting a pet. Her face lit up. She is not a cat person. We are going to aim at dogs. I want to surprise her and bring her one. I cannot think of how awful she feels to walk into that empty house and have no one. I think loneliness is the most awful feeling and there is not a day that passes by that my heart does not ache for her. Does anyone know of a breeder or a recent litter where I can pick up an affordable puppy to bring to her? I need some ideas guys! enlighten me please! I tried the shelter but I want a puppy so it can get used to her and she can get used to him/her. They can grow accostumed to each other.
    Ideas anyone?

    This may or may not help... Lea Anne's Sister fostered these pups since they were about 4 weeks - they were dumped by someone, but since then they have been very well cared for;

    German Shepard,

    I was raised with them and my mom's still breed's and show's them. My experience is a "good" dog is very intelligent, loyal and does not mind you crying into the scruff of it's neck. Frank

    You can try Red Dog Farms. They are a group that takes in unwanted animals. I know they just received some cute little lab pups. Check out there websites.
