    New Pending North Carolina State Record Caught Today Out of Oregon Inlet
    According to the report on Oregon Inlet Fishing Centers site. A Stephen Furlough of Roper, NC caught a 63 pound Striper on the Rigged Up. The old record was 62 pounds. They are currently filling out the paperwork. Captain Charles Haywood was the Captain and he took this picture

    My buddy Dan was fishing down there and did well today with fish to 30 plus pounds. He should have a full report as soon as he gets home.

    I was offered a chance to go to OI and fish yesterday and today for just splitting the cost of fuel and bait, but I could not get away from work on such a short notice. Sounds like they are chewing good. Congrats to the young angler. Thats a trophy by any means but a new record too! Awsome.

    I agree, but the young angler is in the books. He is and always will be part of the NC Striper History! Plus he caught a 63# fish! Only one that is bigger has been caught... ever. Pretty cool with the short window from 63# to 64#, now how long will it take before the 65# is brought in.
