Well, I can't wear visors ever since my wife told me they make my head look like a peanut (thermz ballcap coming?). but I do have a new product that I like

Chum chuckers came out a while ago, but I wrote off their use as just being lazy. Well I had a chance to use one this year and boy was I wrong. Its about catching more fish.

It puts out a steady stream of chunks, no matter whats going on in the pit. I don't know how many times a school of tuna has split due to nobody keeping the chunks going while we are covered up.

It also relieves one of the most tedious chores in fishing. Nobody has to feel bad about not doing their share with the ladle. And don't have to worry about the chummers petering out just before the pre-dawn bite. Just fill it every 3 or 4 hours and enjoy the action

Downsides: $350 price tag, adds to my storage problems, and is a ***** to clean. However I feel that it has the potential to put more fish in the boat while eliminating the drudgery. I'll have my own for next season

One item have found that I needed for the small boat is REAL dry storage underneath the console, I don't the luxury of having all the salon room and walkaround cabin room like some of the big boys. Not only dry storage but the need to be able to see inside said storage container and retrieve items quickly.

My answer to this is a clear extra large roll top duffle from seattle sports glacier bags.

Also, I am looking forward to trying out the new TLD 50 LRS-A 2 speeds by Shimano.

It's not a new product but I just started using them on the boat.

    MAGIC ERASER SPONGES
    http://www.mrclean.com/sites/en_US/m...s/eraser.shtml

They take off rust, scuff marks, dried fish scum, pretty much anything! Just wet it and start making your boat clean again.

Downside: They also take the wax off.

Good thread BOX and you are correct, Spreadwatchers are COOL.

Staying on the theme of protecting the peepers.... Check out a new Polarized Transition lens called "Drivewear" http://www.youngeroptics.com/drivewear/home.php?flash=8

They are plastic material but the optics are great. You can have you local doc/shop put these lenses in any frame. They are great for early mornings, overcast days and late day runs(whether that be drum fishing or a tail cruise at sunset). You guys that run the smaller open boats need some form of eye protection when running and these are awesome.

    safety item

both the Zak Safety knife and Sportsman release knifes are a great affordable way to potentially save someone life or even a finger or hand...

I hang a couple in every cockpit I fish on, and put one on my body when I'm on the water,

Plastic handles with razor knife for quickly cutting mono or line in a pinch!

    how goes it marty!

I've finally got around to setting up the home theater and I must tell you guys about www.monoprice.com If you need HDMI cables for your high def installation this is the place to go. The same cables that you'll pay $70 bucks for at Best Buy and Circuit City are available here for $5.80. I'm not associated in any way, but what some folks are charging for these cables should be a crime.
