Well here in Hamlet, NC we had a bit of a surprise landed on us the other day. I have worked with Econ Devlopment no projects and been on committees but last Thursday they threw on by me that was a shocker for me. For over a year now they have said a new company was coming and they built this MONSTER of a building out on the by-pass but it was ONLY called SRB Holdings. Well last Thursday they announced that BIG ROCK Sports would be occupying the 310,000 sq ft facility expandable to 500,000 sq ft. That is right Big Rock Sports out of MHC. It was know that the SRB holdings would be opening its doors in June or July and employing 150 people. That is very well needed in this community. Thanks to BIG ROCK SPORTS to bringing much needed jobs into this community not to mention they distribute all kinds of toys I like, too bad I can not go shopping in there.

Thats good news for your area Scott. I know how depressed that region has been so it is good to see this facility open there. Maybe it will be the start to some growth.
Lets hope for my sake not, but I doubt it, I will still live in tackle and boating he$$. but one can only dream!! LOL
Robja yea it is good news that whole area where they are has really added some awesome new facilities over the last 5 yrs. Right beside Big Rock Sports is Ritz Craft, they have struggled with the down turn in the housing market but they have deep pockets and will be around they have just cut back but have now started picking back up, then across the street in a new facility in last 5 yrs also that make the grout for tiles Laticrete. but there has been some serious money spent in this area over the last 5-6yrs. The amount of concrete that went into the BRS building would probablly pay off the national debt it is definately the Taj Mahal of facilities. they are all going out on the bypass right near where the interstate 73-74 is coming in. Not to mention we are 2 hrs from Charlotte, 2 hrs from Raleigh, 2 hr from Gboro, 2 hrs from Wilmington, 2.5 from Charleston, 2 hrs from Columbia and 2 hrs from Myrtle Beach puts all these industries in a great shipping location.
