    NEVER TRUST PRE-RIGGED BAITS!!!

When Boaters World went out of business I LOADED up on their clearence tackle items. One of the items I got a boat-load of was their pre-rigged, Mold Craft chuggers. Not my favorite lure but certainly good for a few dolphin etc. when the gettins good.

Well, I didnt like the way they were rigged so I decided to re-rig them myself, give them a hair-cut and add a wahoo-proof setup.

Well .... as I demo'd the original rig I was appauled. As soon as I cut off the heat shrink tubing around the cable, hooks and crimps I found that one out of three crimps was even touched with a crimper and the only thing keeping them from pulling through was the heat shrink itself. As soon as I removed the heat shrink it pulled through the crimp with ZERO resistance..... Glad I decided to re-rig myself!!!

Note: Always rig your own stuff!!!!! That way, you have only yourself to blame if it goes bad. There is so much stuff that you can't control. Make sure this is one piece of the puzzle you have right! Do the work!!!

See the pic below of the untouched crimp and the item in the package ....

Excellent words of warning to the Weekend Warriors out there. Pre-rigged lures & baits are JUNK!

I learned the hardway.... we got covered up with bosco yellowfin last year and every thing held but the rigged boone bird....
    I was pissed.

I just bought some flying fish that were rigged, the first thing I did when I opened them was cut all the rigging off and re rig.

Gonna fly the Kite on friday, Get Ready for some Video!!!!!!!!

    Watch that over swaging...

melt the end and pull it snug when it cools. Be
easy after that and good things will happen.

I have two problems with this solution:

    1. Melting the end of metal cable is tough

    2. Im never easy on anything

    Think Ill just re-rig
