Nev-R-Enuf Day Troll 7/25
Left at 4am in searching for all of the above, we had a great crew aboard and with some inconsistent but promising reports form friends we thought the 30line was the best place to start. When we arrived we had some very nice marks down deep but couldn’t raise anything!
After a few hours of hammering the spot we moved on, came up to our second spot that had some promising signs of life. Porpoises' were hammering baits all around us but after circling the area for almost two hours we decided to go to the fence and hopefully get a day saver. Our attempt didn’t necessarily go as planned.
You would think that covering areas from the 30line to the 100line that even a stray dolphin would take interest in our baits! This was not the case, when you see tuna on the bottom when trolling, your best bet is to put the boat in neutral and let your baits sink in an attempt to get the deep baits to there level. No success!
I think you need to either dedicate at least half your day to either strictly jigging when these fish are down deep or trolling, it’s extremely hard to mix the two.
It sucks taking people on a boat ride but I guess that’s why it’s called fishing and not catching.

Keep at it Irish! It will all go to hell in the cockpit of your boat soon

FI 45,
I believe the old saying around here goes' "even a blind hog find's an acorn after awhile". That saying keep's me going on those long, slow day's. I started to name my boat "Blind Hog", just for that reason. Frank
