Need your thoughts and prayers

I apologize I normally do not ask or worry people with my problems. But I know so many of you and think so much of the whole SF family that I wanted to ask for your prayers for my dad. He is having a tough time right now, over the last cpl years he has had 5 by-passes 14 stints and much more all from diabetes. This is a tough disease. Well recently dad developed choate foot (crumbing of the bones in the ankle) so they put a cast on him, well cast rubbed a sore (bad for diabetic and this was a concern in putting the cast on). So now for 3 months they have been treating him, he has been in the hospital most of the time, and now this. Well last Sat while fishing the FLW I called and check and my mother said he had a bad rash, well turns out it is some vascular disease coming from the antibiotics so on Sun we took him to the ER and they admitted him and now through cultures they have discovered he has a BAD staph infection in the foot with the sore, the kind that resist treatment and the meds they try and treat with can shut down his kidneys. In addition they are now discussing aputation below the knee and he is really upset, and I am sure we all would be in this case. The doctor is concerned about if they do the surgery his heart and with everything he has going against him I am not sure how much more he could take. I am just spent my friends, do not know what is up or down. I had booked a big drum trip with Capt Brian this Sat to take him, my nephew and brother in law just so dad could go cause he taught me to fish saltwater when I was a little boy and knows the love I have for it, unfortunately he will not be able to make it this time. Sorry to tell you all this but had to just get it out and talking just does not work any more. So keep my father in your thoughts and prayers I would personally appreciate it. I thank all my SF family for listening. I personally want to thank weekender to being such a good friend, he has called and talked to my dad and just gone above and beyond. Thanks Scott

Unfortunately, I see diabetics and non diabetics with Charcot feet on a daily basis and sometimes things go horribly wrong. I wish him well and hope they can get a handle on his condition.

Hay Dolph my father had the same staph infection caused by crones this
past january I rush to conn to see him and the preist was at his bed side
my hart just dropped hes body was so swollen it didnt look like my dad
his kidneys were shutting down the with the grace of god after 4 days he was getting better lost like 80lbs and now hes fine so I know how you feel
I will be praying for you and your DAD and family every day have hope my
freind.
