Need video help

I am sure that there have already been plenty of posts about how to edit/post videos. I have some decent footage of some blue marlin bites on disc. I recorded them with a Sony digital camcorder. Can not get them copied to my hard drive. so I can not edit them either. can anyone start me in the right direction?

open my computer in xp......right click the drive icon associated with the dvd.......choose explore as the selection option.........now look for .vob files or .mpg or .mov files.....one of these will be the video

if it is a .vob file you can rename it to .mpg......but first copy it to your hard drive........to do this right click the .vob file an choose copy.........now go to your desk top and right click paste.......

now you will need to convert the .mpg file or .mov file to a wmv file.......search google for a converter.......now open in windows movie maker which is standard in xp with sp2 upgrade or standard in vista premium.......edit away

or place the file in any one of the formats on Admin's server and I will or Gradywhite273 will edit it for you......pm Jer for the uploader address.......shoot me a pm when it is there....flatbottom
