    John,
I thought about giving you a shout on here to let you know we were going but simply ran out of time. I'm sure we'll be going back soon enough! We barely even thought about fishing on this trip. Didn't know for sure what was going on in the winter over there. I checked the weather reports a few times and didn't seem like a lot of wind most days but there was a big swell rolling in from a low pressure sitting just above the islands for several days. Maybe we'll be able to get offshore on the next trip. You're right, though...Kauai is awesome! That was my first trip and was blown away. Where was your boat docked? Nawiliwili Harbor? We rode by a small tackle store down that way but it was closed both times we went by.

Thanks everyone for the kind words! On one hand I wish I didn't have to come back, but on the other, it really is good to be back. Especially when we fry up these FRESH sea bass fillets from today tomorrow night! I'm glad that you allow me to share an awesome vacation with you guys!

Yo man if you ever head back out there post up before you go. My brother lives out there and I have some friends that work on the charter boats there. They are huuurrrtin for business there!

That mud is slippery man it's like a sheet of ice. My brother lives on the top of a hill and you need to put it in 4wd just to get there if it has rained even a little bit. Looks like you guys had a blast though. Kaui is beautiful! Thanks for the pics.

    Just a few more...

I know Squid already posted a handful of photos from our trip but I thought I'd add a few of my favorites...golf, a couple from the south shore in Poipu (where we happened across about 30-40 green sea turtles chowing on something brought in by the rough water), Squid and his 360 degree spin down the waterslide, Waimea Canyon and Wailua falls (the larger of the falls is in Waimea Canyon and has the helicopter in the shot...this waterfall is the one from the beginning of the movie Jurassic Park and is 800 feet long) and some of the gang and us out to eat. Overall, a very cool trip w/my guy and the fam...can't wait to do it again next year or sooner, and get some fishing in the Pacific!! Aloha

Yeah, I was docked at Nawiliwili harbor. The store you're talking about was most likely Lihue Fishing Supply. There's a better one called Waipouli Variety in Kapa'a that's really nice. But you'll have to hit that one on the next trip. Man I miss that place. Glad you two got to see most of it.

We rode down near Nawiliwili a couple days to eat or what not. The tackle store was indeed Lihue Fishing Supply. I didn't even know about the one in Kapa'a. I'll have to check it out next time since we stay in Kapa'a. What is the fishing like this time of the year over there? Smaller yellowfins and wahoos?

Smaller yellowfins and wahoo, but usually a good striped marlin bite and really big mahi.

Love the Islands... Havent been to that one yet. So far my favorite is the Big Island, and then Maui.

That is next on my list. Loved being able to see it/live it from your pics. Great place, and looks like you have a wonderful wife/friends to share it with!

Thanks for the glimpse of paradise.
