    Need some help rubbing it!!!!

With father’s day coming up this weekend... I put in an order for a case of Kansas City cut pork ribs.

If I remember correctly I will get around 12 racks in a case.

I’m sure some of you guys down south would be able to point me in the right direction for making a nice dry rub.
I plan on soaking them in some apple cider vinegar for about an hour and then giving them a good rub and throwing them on the grill.

Any suggestions on how to make the rub????

Not what you were thinking???? get your mind out of the gutter.

    One of my favorite rubs

Here ya go! Happy fathers day

3 racks baby back pork ribs (about 7 lbs) or 2 racks pork spareribs (6 to 8 lbs total)

    1/4 cup sweet paprika

4 1/2 tsp freshly ground black pepper

4 1/2 tsp dark brown sugar

    1 Tbl salt

    1 1/2 tsp celery salt

    1 1/2 tsp cayenne pepper

    1 1/2 garlic powder

    1 1/2 tsp dry mustard

    1 1/2 tsp ground cumin

Combine the paprika, black pepper, brown sugar, salt, celery salt, cayenne, garlic powder, dry mustard, and cumin in a small bowl and whisk to mix. Rub two thirds of this mixture over the ribs on both sides, then transfer the ribs to a roasting pan. Cover and let cure, in the refrigerator, for 4 to 8 hours.

Another tip is to soak some hickory wood or oak wood chips in apple cider vinegar. Put the wood chips on the coal and give it that smokey flavor.

I also do the same thing as wesco but I add a pan of water with the chips in it inside the grill. It helps keep the ribs tender while they are cooking. Damn, I'm not getting any ribs for father day I get screwed every year since my wifes birthday is the the 20th and all the money gets spent on a nice meal for her. Same with my birthday, my sons is July 23, mines July 27th!

when you put the chips in to cook, instead of using water, use some cheap whiskey or that cider that you soaked them in

use a minimal amount of smoke..

    use..
    salt
    pepper
    onion powder
    garlic powder
    brown sugar

Rub em down and let em cook...

about 3 hours through wrap them in found meet side down and put bbq sauce, butter, apple juice on the bottom of the foil wrap and let them cook for another 2 hours or so and then take em out and meat side up for another 30 minutes or an hour..

they will be finger lickin good!!

I will also add do not pre soak your chips.. You can just add a moisture pan..

dont grill em smoke em.. 5 hours is good around 225degrees to 240degree.

220degrees is what you would like to be at if possible..

just make sure you keep the coals going good and dont overload it with smoke and wood..

chips are okay depending on what kind of smoker but i think chunks are 10000000 times better!

    hickory gets the nod!!

    Thanks everyone.

    I'm friggin starvin now.....

Can I cook these the day before and warm them up on a gas grill?

The day is going to be spent at my brother in laws house and I don't really want to tow my grill over there (its getting a little old and needs some TLC) or get there 6 hours early to make them.
