I use Penn Senators and yesterday while SERprise and myself were out the clicker button on one of my 12/0's became extremely difficult to engage and then the clicker stopped working! Does anyone have any advice on this or maybe what happend? I hope I didn't shotgun the clicker because then I will be down a reel and it is almost Wahoo season! Thanks ya'll.
Take off the entire left side plate and look at it. The clicker actually goes down(engage) and up(disengage) against a ratchet on the spool.
Sometimes the click tongue(part that engages the ratchet on the spool) can come loose from the click button or push down the Clicker Spring (brass c-clip looking part). You may have to insert the click tongue (arrow shaped part) back into Clicker Spring.
Lots of part names here, but once you take it off it is pretty self explanatory.
Go to the fishing reel forum and put this post up.There's a guy named AlanTani there who puts up detailed fix it yourself instructions.I'm sure he can help you out.
Hey man if you want I can come over wednesday or thurs to look at it I serviced all my reels and put smoothie drags on all of em they really are very simple. Let me know.
