NE Blow - Piney Neck Canyon 10/18 w/Capt. Terry

Well the North East wind was blowing,
but the deer were still a showing.

We sat in our stands and gazed in the field,
The wind blowing blowing 20 with only a tree to give us shield.

It was getting dark and time was running short,
When all of the sudden a herd came running out.

Yeah there were some does and 1 nice 8 ptr.,
But the one I shot had some huge hind quarters.

He was only a spike, but looked like he swallowed a hog,
I took my shot and he fell near a log.

Called my buddy to lend my a hand,
As the blood trail spread across the land.

After a couple of beers and dragging 400 yds across the field,
Man i'm outta shape can we stop and take a break...
That deer will surely yield some great steak!

Since we can't kill a hoo, cause the wind won't stop blowing,
I guess sitting in a treestand the next greatest thing,
At least we don't get yap from the wife and the cell phone doesn't ring!

Way to go Capt. Terry. Nice 165lb spike buck to start the season and fill the freezer. Can't wait to try some deer steak 'ums!

Good luck fishing with Box this week. I hope this NE wind stops blowing.

BTW in the attached pics.....beware to the weary, he won't be needing those pair of you know what's any more!
