Thumbs up NC Trailer law veto over written

Senate passed the override 39-0!!! and the House vote was 95-8. Overwhelming in favor of the ones of us that pull trailers. Maybe now we can get back to normal for the coast as we can tow up to 10 feet wide without a permit and up to 9-1/2 feet wide at night, on holidays and on Sunday
Now as I under stand it, the new bill, HB2167 and S1695 , has some new trailer requirements that we need for our trailers, one of them is getting them inspected I think.
As I find out more I will post them and if any of you know more about these bill please expend for us.

I formally would like to thank out Senate and House Representatives for reconvening to take care of this veto as well as those of you that took the time to contact your Representatives to look at this very important matter...

    Capt Lee,

Why would your governor veto this bill to begin with? Seems to me it would be time for change

Cause he is an idiot and gets his political advice for Mr Rand in Fayetteville. Was not a good Attorney General either.

The governor is not up for reelection. We will have and new one, not necessarily better, in January.

He is a crook. Lots of shady dealings on land, Conflict of interest stuff as well. I'm sure someone with an interest was contributing to his "retirement" fund

    Lee,

    Indeed this is excellent news!

I believe the trailer inspection is another issue and is still required.

The new bill does require amber lights on the widest part of your trailer/boat, usually the guideposts.

    Yes you are right!!

Just so everyone knows the governors veto of HB2167 was overturned this morning by a unanimous vote in both the house and the senate.
We will be putting together some information on the laws HB2167 and S1695 for everyone soon. Just trying to get clarification on a few things. Congrats to EVERYONE that made calls and sent e-mails in support. I think the final vote tells the tail. We really need to contact the legislators that supported us and thank them. It is very important that we take the time and make sure we educate everyone on the new laws. Now that we have done this we need to make sure we don't do anything to loose it....Mark
