Can I ask a question to all who say they watch hd, How ?

Get the Flash Player to see this video by Captain Tred Barta.

Please tell me if the quality of the above video is worse or better then those other sites.
To me and everyone else I have asked this video quality have is no worse than any other site.

We just can not do these large files via user upload in a browser. You need to ftp the file up witch Jer will set any one up with at any time.
Its not hard and can be done very easily with a tad bit of patients.

The new encoders we want will allow it to be done via web browser uploads.

But fact is from everything I have read I'd say 98% of you can not truly watch a hd video.

To tell ya the truth I can't watch anything Marty does weather it's on SFC or somewhere else. I think it's this "HD" stuff, but what ever it is he is using he has the only vids I can't download.

    I don't even try anymore.

I can watch Treds video just fine no problem.

I watched the Barta video just posted, I've seen Marty's video's here and elsewhere. The quailty for all of these formats are fine with me. Admin./Jer, please for all of us out here, make it possible for everyone to easily load and view the best quailty video's possible. Thats all any of us can ask of you for free service. I hope to be receiving a 500 gig external hard drive from Marty soon that is loaded with incredible Blue and White Marlin footage. I want to put that edited video on this site. I am inexperienced with video, when I'm ready who would be willing to help me make it happen?

Working together is usually the solution to every problem/issue.

    Thanks, Todd

This is true About HD it is not true HD and cannot be viewed as True HD on line. It is loaded as wide screen like treds. The videos I have on the computer are HD format and can be converted. About a year ago I worked with some one on staff here and at the time even they could not get the videos to load in wide screen. I believe that file was about 9 minutes in length. We could get it loaded but could not get the wide screen like the Tred video above. The video kept loading in a standard format and the images looked like everything was stretched tall and skinny. Here is the video that we tried to load and you can see it is not in wide screen. I would love to upload here. This is not a knock on this web site but this was the only website I couldn't get the video to load in wide screen. Any help would be appreciated.I for one know how much work is done here but felt I was putting out the Admin asking for help on the upload... I am willing to try again that's for sure!! Mark

    John, Jer, Box,

I have always admitted that I am the original computer monkey. About all that I can do is write books and draw on one of them newfangled electronic contraptions - thank God! So I'm useless as mammaries on a bovine as far as commenting on the technical details of this issue and I won't even try.

BUT, please allow me to say that I have the highest regard, respect, and admiration for all three of you and I have a great love - yes, love - for this wonderful sight and I hugely appreciate all of the effort that each of you has put and puts into it. There's no doubt that it is/was a Herculean task, but one that you guys have pulled off.

My humble and probably weak but well-intentioned way of rewarding you is to mention you in my books and magazine articles as often as I can. SFC and even the hardscrabbled Boxman who I occasionally joust with have appeared in them and more than once. I also happen to know many fishermen and also many of the major players in this industry, they know that I'm a straight shooter, and I do not hesitate to tell one and all what a fantastic venue this is. No big deal, I know.

My efforts don't come anywhere near all of yours, but they are the best that I can do right now. Here is a bit more, though.

John, as long as you promise me (and your word is all that I need - I know that it is ironclad), I will donate 100% of the proceeds for the sale of our just updated (yesterday) Best Marlin Lure? book, less the money we donate to Lab Rescue (15%) to SFC exclusively to help purchase that thingamajig you want to get and that will help with this video thing and help and improve the site. We will not take a dime of the money generated, other than that for the Labs. We cannot do this forever, so let's say we do it for a full week.

The only thing that I ask is that if the stated goal is reached, that funds generated after that revert back to us. That is only fair and I put a lot of work into these books, they are how I make a meager living and I would like to get paid for that work after we have accomplished what we hopefully set out to do here. You pick the time and we'll iron out the details and get started whenever you say.

Marlin time is here and will continue for many months across the SFC membership and maybe we can do some good and help out. The book itself is the most controversial big game fishing book ever written and is an educational, fun read. It even has a chapter written by that marlin fishing guru, Captain Roddy Hays, that is probably worth the price of the book alone. That man is a true master. And at thirty bucks a pop, a mere few hundred books (not a lot) could get you very close to your stated goal, very fast.

If you approve, we are standing by.

And if you don't, all three of you please accept my humble thanks for all that you have done and do here. I'm sure that as you always have, you will work out any kind of problem you face quickly and smoothly and that we will all benefit from it...

    As usual!

    Hoorah for SFC!

    WELL PUT

I HAVE HONESTLY NEVER MET A FISHERMAN AS EXPERIENCED AND AS WILLING TO TEACH OTHERS ANY TECHNICAL TIP AND OR ADVANTAGE AS MARTY.

I UNDERSTAND THE KEYBOARD TIME AND THE EFFORT THAT HE PUTS INTO THIS SITE.
I HONESTLY KNOW IN MY HEART THAT HE NEVER MENT TO TRY AND TAKE ANY USERS TO ANOTHER SITE OR TAKE ANYTHING AWAY FROM SFC.

THIS CAT LIVES AND BREATHES SFC.

HE IS FULLY INVOLVED IN THE SPORTFISHING AND CHARTER BOAT INDUSTRY IN JUST ABOUT THE BEST AREA ON THE EAST COAST AND HAS PROVEN TO BE AN OUTSTANDING FISHERMAN AND STEWART OF THE SEA BY ALL MEANS AND ANYONE'S STANDARDS. I HAVE PERSONALLY SEEN HIS SET UP AND HIS EXTENSIVE VIDEO COLLECTION AND THE TIME THAT HE POURS INTO IT AFTER A LONG DAY OF FISHING......

I DON'T KNOW WHAT MORE NEEDS TO BE SAID HERE.
I CAN UNDERSTAND THAT THE ADMINISTRATION WOULD HAVE A WARRANTEED CONCERN ABOUT USERS GOING TO OTHER SITES..........I HOPE THAT THIS ALL COMES TOGETHER AND IS WORKED OUT IN THE END......

........BECAUSE GOD KNOWS HOW MUCH TRAFFIC IS BROUGHT THROUGH THIS SITE VIA W2MW ALONE.......AND EVERY OTHER SECTION OF THIS SITE......

HEAK I WISH THAT I HAD THE MONEY TO BUY THE DEVISE FOR MARTY RIGHT NOW, AND I WOULD ......JUST TO EXPERIENCE EACH AND EVERY VIDEO THAT THE MASTER OF THE CAMERA PRODUCES.......

I MYSELF HAVE LEARNED SOME GREAT AND USEFULL HINTS AND TECHNICAL INFORMATION FROM MARTY THROUGH SOME OF THE FOOTAGE THAT HE PLACES ON THIS SITE.

WHAT AN ASSET TO SFC MARTY IS AND HE SHOULD REMAIN TO BE COMMENDED IN THE HIGHEST FORM POSSIBLE.......

JUST MY 2 CENTS WORTH HERE.
