My little "Island" in this "World" Vol. 8....

As you can tell, I've been a little quiet on here lately. Not much has been going on here as of late. We have clients just starting to come back now and I'm starting to get a few trips in the books for later this month. Believe me, I'm itching to get back on the water. As soon as this wind lays out, I'm gonna head offshore and see if the wahoo bite has started yet. Just went snorkeling and conch diving a few times and the reefs look like they've been sandblasted or something. But it's not all bad though. The fish are starting to come back and I might go out a little later today and see if I can round up some snappers for dinner. Only time will tell how quickly the reefs will heal themselves, but I hope it's soon.

Finally had a chance to go offshore today. Went out for 4 hours to do a little trolling with a client. We still haven't restocked all the bait that was lost in the storm, so I pulled lures. There were lots of flyers and some good marks. Ended up with 4 blackfins and losing about $30.00 worth of skirts to the cudas. Oh well, tomorrow's another day. Not fishing tomorrow, but I'm taking clients from New York over to Fish Cay for a picnic/snorkeling trip. I'll take some pics. I forgot my camera today.

Hey John,
Where are those NY'ers from?
Glad to hear things are getting better down there for you guys. Water still looks a little cloudy? Still seeing those big schools of bones?

Tight lines,
Captain Jim

The bonefish are around, but they're acting weird. Alot more skittish than usual. I believe the clients are from NYC. I know he's a big real estate developer there. The water's clearing up though.

I know it will get better Marty, just waiting to see how it goes. Had some technical difficulties with the camera today, but it was a great trip over to Fish cay. The water was beautiful, the wind was right, and the snorkeling was a lot better than it has been. Things are getting right.

did you find that sunken sailboat again yet? We were planning a trip out to dive on it as soon as we get another boat.

Nope....looked again for a bit today. It's gone. Probably got pushed over the wall or something.

Dang. Wonder what else has changed.

There is something 'different' looking about the old freighter wreck out of Leeward..could be my imagination.

There are other exposed, grounded wrecks, between you guys and French Cay, and the one off North Caicos over near Pumpkin Bluff... going to be plenty excuses for some more exploring one of these days.
