My Hat's Off To You Folk's That Are "Good" With Kid's,

Had a friend of mine that passed away this week after a battle with cancer. He was 53 and put up a "no pity for me" fight. He was like me in one sense he could be as abrasive as they come , but we alway's managed to have an honest relationship. Didn't alway's agree, but didn't have to.
A couple year's back I got quite a suprise from his action's. I was at the family's store whens clearly "very Mexican" kid came up and said "hey Mr. Seth". Well I was fully prepared to "rescue" this youngster from the wrath "I" knew was coming (to listen to him talk he didn't like anyone other than White's and I even wondered if he liked them much). That's when Seth gave me a jolt I'll never forget, he grabbed that kid up with such a warm hug and started just jabbering away.
You see Seth ,a Scout Leader,loved kid's to death. He lead I'm told many to be Eagle Scout's (I really don't know anything about Scout's , but know that an Eagle is special). I'm told that a couple of month's ago he lead a ceremony for a buddy's son that had earned Eagle Scout status. He was really into these kid's obviously.
I guess to make a long story short, I've never been "good" with kid's, (not really good with adult's either , if the truth be known). Some take to them with such a natural, genuine demeaner that it makes me a little envious I guess. Don't get me wrong I've been the best father I know, alway's did whatever it took to provide for them regardless of what it took. But have seemed to fall short in the Daddy Dept.
I know there are guy's and gal's on here that take the time to connect with and make a difference with kid's that don't have it so good. So I guess in Honor of Seth and those of you like him, I'm saying Thank You. Frank,SeaPower

Great story Frank, I don't have kids but helped raise a couple or 3 of others peoples. Love taking them fishing or out in the boat...
