MY DRYER STOPPED HEATING!

BY CHANCE IS THERE A READER OUT THERE WHO HAS THE KNOWLEDGE TO HELP A MAN OUT HERE....

I HAVE A SEARS KENMORE 80 SERIES DRYER....IT RUNS FINE....BUT THE HEATING PROCESS STOPPED IMMEDIATELY...I HAVE SCOURGED THE INTERENT FOR SOME HELP AND HAVE MADE A BIT OF PROGRESS BUT.....I AM DUMB WHEN IT COMES TO THIS....

IT MUST BE ONE OR FOUR EASILY REPLACED PARTS....

I DISCONNECTED THE TWO WIRES FROM THE THERMAL FUSE PICTURED BELOW AND TOUCHED THE WIRES TOGETHER....AND STILL NO HEATSO THE INTERENT SUGGESTIONS RULES THAT OUT ACCORDING TO THE FORUM I VISITED


NOW THAT LEAVES ME WITH THREE MORE OPTIONS (PARTS) IMO....

MY PROBLEM IS I DO NOT HAVE A MANUAL AND I REFUSE TO BUY ONE ONLINE BECAUSE WHEN I TRIED I GOT HAMMERED WITH SPAM!!!


DOES ANYONE KNOW WHAT THESE PARTS BELOW ARE CALLED? THIS WAY I CAN AT LEAST HAVE A NAME TO TRY TO LOOK FOR WHEN I ORDER THEM.

Your heater element probably went bad.

I can't help with the technical part, but make sure your dryer vent is not clogged. If it is the clothes will not dry and you could end up with a fire.

Had the same problem just last summer!

I used the store that shares a building with deans gas? Shoot I cant remember the name.....

they ordered the part and UPS'd it out in just day or so..

If you'll call deans gas and ask for appliance parts they'll hook you up.

but for future reference the two that that I could see, are limit switches. If it ever happens again, the easiest way to check the coil and the switches is to pull one wire loose and olhm them out. If you don't get a beep replace it. switches are usually around $5 and the coil usually comes with a new one on it.(depending on the brand) I always replace them all when I have it apart. Makes for a longer time between working on it. Less work time means more fishing.
