Great way of presenting the situation Searen...
Fishermen are hard headed folks but when it comes to important issues like these for sure we'll need to put aside what divides us!
I can't even imagine what would happen if an MPA came to Cape Lookout??? I would be sending my application to the Box Militia....

The way the conservationist are gaining ground here in the United States, I don't trust the government any farther than I can throw them. I am totally against any MPA's anywhere on the coast, especially here in North Carolina. Many Marine protected area, if implemented usually run by square miles, not feet. It would suck very bad if when you cleared Beaufort Inlet, you had to turn west instead of turning east. You talk about something that would destroy both recreational and commercial fishing. I have already seen how well the Feds control the offshore bottom fishing and bluefin tunas. I don't want them to get their grubby little hands on anything else!

Hell I cant even find any type of boundary chart or map for any of these areas. So begs the question how do you know where the hell they are at? An imaginary boundary in the ocean? Mark
