Morehead / Wilmington Wish-A-Fish Event?

I AM DEFINITELY IN ON THE VOLUNTEER WORK PLUS SOME GREENBACKS....

I WANT TO EXPRESS MY THOUGHTS REGARDING CHARTERBOATS WITH THIS EVENT.....I DON'T FEEL IT'S FAIR TO ASK ANY BOAT AT THIS TIME FOR ANY $$ BREAK WHATSOEVER....THE WEATHER HAS HAD THEM LOCKED IN FOR 6 WEEKS NOW.... MOST ARE STRUGGING TO STAY ALFLOAT DURING HARD TIMES

BUT I DO APPLAUDE ANY VOLUNTEER CHARTERBOAT IF THEY STEP FORWARD TO HELP OUT

AL, I MAY HAVE THE FACILITY IN MY BACK YARD TO HOLD THIS EVENT .....IT IS A PRIVATE COMMUNITY GYMNASIUM...KITCHEN ETC WITH PARKING ...I JUST NEED TO GET SOME ASSOCIATION APPROVAL PRIOR TO DOING THIS

Thanks (again) guys... I'll write down your numbers and make calls while on the road to Annapolis today... I'll be out of town 'til Thursday.

Marty - I agree about the charter boats. One of the things they (charters) have done in the past is offer a trip as a raffle prize. Usually the trip is in their "slow time". We've even been successful raising money while paying the charter's expenses for the day with raffle monies.

If I can get someone from up here to make the trip south with me, I'll pull the WAF trailer and they can pull the custom cooker (big mamma-jamma on wheels - smoker, propane or charcoal fired).

Now... how about a date? I've got a VA Headboat event in June, (2) events in MD on the last two weekends of July, and one on 9/13 in VA... other than that, I'm WIDE OPEN.

Next - A group of kids... "Special Needs" can be interperted in a lot of ways. You guys make the call. I've worked in the past with Children's Hospitals, Autism Societies, Special Education groups, and dis-advantaged kids. But, ultimately, I'd like this to be an event to be adopted by the folks in that area... and would like it to be "fitted" to their wants.

Thanks again folks. I made a couple calls for info on venues/boats at each location... MARTY/BISCUIT, thanks for your help. Once we have the info, we'll make the call on location. Heck, with enough support, we can do BOTH.
