Drove down to morehead yesterday to visit my ole pals and pre fish with Marty and Lee aboard the Bite Me. Rolled out around 5:30 a.m. and made our way to the NE of the big rock. No bites for the first hr and and a half when low and behold our new found friend darren arrises from below deck with a bannana hanging out of his mouth. Darren was experiencing his 1st bluewater trip and was clueless of the traditions that be. After we thoroughly cleared his mass stash of bananas the bites began. We picked through mostly small tasty blackfins and a couple YF's. Went 5/5, 2/2, 3/3 and a couple singles. Jake, John Rodgers, Sikorski were flawless and we worked as a team real well. Of course box had his classic head shakes, but it was all good. Lost a huge bite on the planer with a pulled hook and one other large mystery bite. Sikorski has the underwater footage that is truely awesome. The highlight of the day is yet to come. We had a very proud and stand out moment for one of the crew today and box will be bringing it live to SFC.
So thats about it. Best of luck to all that are fishing the Squidnation.com father/son tourney. 1st class all the way and best of luck all around.
Jake and I will be going double on the WILD GOOOSE.
One other note, yall need to hook up with Capt Lee, (gottaflylee). What a pleasure to fish with. Laidback, calm and smooth. Nice as can be and the manm can straight up fish.
Later, karl
