Morehead City- Wahoos chewed today 08/07/09

[Bluewater Lady Charters]

Had Buck Goode on the boat today with his sons and nephews. Original plan was to try and get some meat this morning and then look for some sails and whites. Pulled up on some flyers and structure. 5 minutes later our first hoo is in the box. Made a few circles but didn't get a bite. Worked our way out to 35 fathoms and it was on. Bite was hot until around 11:00 then slowed. Trolled back into some shallower water and the bite turned on again. Wound up with 10 wahoo to 30# and 5 mahi. Lost another 4 or 5 due to cut offs or pulled hooks. Left em biting.

Stopped in Joe Shute's Thurs. to pick up some bait. Asked him to tie me up a different version of one of his 3oz. lures. Which he did while I was waiting.
Ran it on the bridge pole. 3 hoos, one pull off, and had another on when it slid up the wire another hoo hit and cut it off.
Thanks Joe. Need another one.
