    Morehead City Question

First off I want to say hi to everyone im a new guy on here. I have been lurking on here for a few months and just signed up. Marty, I love the Videos.

This June we are bringing our boat down to Morehead City from New Jersey for the Big Rock tournament. We can get a slip at either Beaufort Docks or Morehead City Yacht Basin. Which Marina would be a better choice?

    Welcome

Welcome to the board. Have stayed at both and are at MHCTB right now for GBT season. MHCYB great facility and withing walking distance of down town MC where the tournament weigh in is. The Beaufort Docks has everything right across the street from marina but will need a car to get to MHC. MHCYB has great docks and facility to shower ect. Brand new club house and first rate people. Negative is no fuel on C dock plus limited parking. Either will work out fine but MHCYB is closer to the action in downtown MHC but Beaufort Docks has everything you need right across from the Marina if you do not have a car. My call would be MHCYB because you can walk a few blocks to food and downtown MHC. Portside Marina is right across the street for ice and bait from MHCYB if do not have ground transportation. Never been to MHC during Big Rock week so Beaufort may be less crowed but my pick is MHCYB.

Thanks for the offer but I already have a 60 foot slip reserved at MHYB. I am just looking for info as to which marina would be better to stay at because we are all comming down on the boat and will not have a car.

I would rent a car to get around and split amoung the crew. Try Enterprise because they will come right to the boat and pick you up. Possibly there are shuttles like in OCMD during tournament week but someone with more local Big Rock Tournament knowledge may be able to answer this one for you. One thing you will find is how nice the people are in the MHC area. Everyone that has come to the MHC area and fished with us comment on this.
