    Moonfish on the Troll ????

Thats right this past week the inshore fleet caught Moonfish while trolling for spanish and king mackerels... They are a type of lookdown... I've never caught them before... They say... they are good to eat. What a strange year... didn't have the camera with me, but I will this week. Has anyone else caught this fish and or eaten them? Spanish fishing is like I have never seen before... with some great king action!

Offshore continues to be great bill fishing and some yellowfins have shown up as well as plenty of dolphins. Its August and fishing is great.... Hope this goes right in to the Fall.

Yup, they are all over down here in South Palm Beach, FL in the Intracoastal. We use a jig with grub tail so the kids can catch them in the backyard.

I've eaten them and they are very good. Just a lot of work to fillet them - but worth it.

soak the fillets in beer for 1/2 hr, drag them through an egg wash, roll in panko - pan fry in olive oil over med-high heat.
