    Moon light bottom bouncin

Left out of MHC Monday afternoon aboard the Electric Bill with Chip, Jason and Ryan of LS Reels to kill some groupers. Well it was a nice ride out, slight ground swell, running down sea. Stopped at the first mark and made a few drops, rest of the guys went with cut bait, I stuck with the jig. Some nice BSB here, Chip put a solid 5lb. in the box, Then I started getting some on the jig. It's early and nice so we head well south to some Red #'s to try. Beautiful sun set, can't wait the fish are going to be chewing, well sorta! Over go the big baits and the jig, plenty of Pinkies and beeliners tearing it up along with the usual trash fish but no groupers. About to move I make 1 more drop and start cranking, bam something nails it under the boat, small king which cut the braided hook off the jig.

We continue to try the area with out a grouper. I switch to cut bait to work on the beeliners, when something a little bigger come to the dinner table. Finally a grouper, great then the lights come on and it's short Gag, released. Then I get my first American red Snapper, short, released also. With the forecast calling for a wind shift and increasing we head in to some closer #'s. Here we find good BSB, and beeliners again. Chip proceeds to tangle with every shark in the area I get another good hit, come on grouper, suprise my second Amer. Red snapper and it's plenty legal, our big fish for the night.

Jason and Ryan continue to bring them up 2,3 at a time, starting to get a good mess when the wind gets a little brisker. Well it's getting to be after midnight and there starts to be a few more whitecaps starting to pop up around 20 miles off the beach. We pack up and get settled for the headsea ride in, not to bad curtians up and laid out on the bean bags. We roll back in to the inlet around 2 am.

At the inlet there is a 50-60ft, motor yacht sitting high and dry over on Rough Pt. We passed this rig when we were heading out, I hope everyone is well. There was alot of realestate around her, getting her pulled off is gonna hurt somebody's wallet. I didn't get any pics of the fish but a good one of the waining sunlight.

The next bite on a jig.
Ouch, rough point is a surf zone and we know what that means. The S word.

Awesome job on the big RED.

Very nice report, congratulations on a cooler full of red!
You guys had the right idea Monday afternoon. That narrow evening window may well have been the only one for this week. I too was tempted, but never got the nerve!

I know that you have some pictures of the catch. We don't get to see very many ARSs, so please post 'em up if you have them.

Hey Roger another great report. Was on my way out of town when I heard you guys were launching. Guess my question, if you were staying out that late why not stay a few more hrs and catch the early morn bite. Chip didn't wake up for work anyway, HAHA! Nice pics man.
