Mono Question

Anyone know if mono sitting on the shelf will go bad? I was browsing around a local tackle/marine industrial store and came across a 1000 yard spool of 130 momoi diamond for only eighty bucks. I paid about one-sixty for the same spool about two months ago. I didn't buy it, because it looked like it had been sitting a while. If you guys tell me that mono doesn't go bad, I will pick it up if it isn't gone already. Thanks for the help guys.

I know that depending on how it is stored it can go bad. There's got to be a reason that it is so cheap, but for eight bucks, I'd buy it and have the breaking strength tested somewhere. It may be an incredible deal you're passing up,and if not, what will cost you, eight dollars?

I would say buy it. That Momoi Diamond mono breaks higher than what its rated at anyhow, I think.

Believe it or not the UV light from over head strip lights can weaken line fact though in my mind the weak bit is always going to be deep on the reel as how far can that UV penetrate

The spool was also in the box, so im hoping that provided some protection. Will let you guys know how I made out.
